Along with this, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty. India has closed the Attari-Wagah border, ended diplomatic ties and halted all trade with Pakistan has also been stopped. In response to this, Pakistan has ended the Shimla Agreement and India has canceled the visas of Pakistanis.

This geo-political tension that has arisen between India and Pakistan has once again created a live situation. Now if there is a slight misconception between India and Pakistan, then there will definitely be a war.

So in today’s article we will know which military is in the best position between the military of India and Pakistan.

India and Pakistan:- personal strength

According to the Global Fire Index 2025, India is the 4th most powerful military in the world, while Pakistan ranks 12th. India has 1.46 million military personnel in service and 1.5 million are kept in reserve. Apart from this, India has 2.5 million paramilitary forces who are always ready to serve their country.

Only 6,54,000 personnel are serving in Pakistan’s army. There are 50,000 personnel in paramilitary Military forces. So if we talk like this, then Pakistan is far behind India in terms of military personnel.

India and Pakistan:- Defence budget

The total budget of Indian military in 2025-26 is approximately 80 billion US dollars which will be approximately 6.81 lakh crores rupees whereas the budget of Pakistan is only 7.6 billion US dollars which will be ₹85k crores rupees.

According to the Stockholm International Peace and Research Institute, India is considered the world’s largest arms importer, while a lot of military hardware and software of the Pakistani military is procured from China.

It is very clear that every country has some corruption, but the amount of corruption in the Pakistan Army is not as much as in the army of any other country. Some experts believe that there are some generals in the Pakistan Army who have stolen the influence of the Pakistan Army and their country and have set it abroad. There are many officers of the Pakistan Army who have acquired a lot of property in England.

India and Pakistan :- tank strength

India has approximately 4614 battle tanks which include T-90 Bhishma tank and Arjun tank. T-90 Bhishma tank and Arjun tank are considered to be one of the battle tanks of Indian army. Arjun tank is an indigenously designed battle tank and is serving in the Indian army.

Apart from this, Indian army has 1 lakh armoured vehicles and Indian army has 4972 artillery. Artillery provides protection to Indian Army from any type of ballistic rockets and high speed bullets.

Pakistan has only 3742 battle tanks and 6000 armoured vehicles and only 1318 artillery pieces which is far behind the Indian Army.

India and Pakistan:- Missile and Nuclear capacity

Pakistan also has a ballistic missile named Shaheen 3 which has a range of 2750 km and apart from this, Pakistan is working with China and Belarus on a ballistic missile with a range up to 3000 km and more.

There are only 9 countries in the world that have nuclear weapons, including Russia, America, China, France, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea.

India has 172 nuclear weapons whereas Pakistan has 170 nuclear weapons.

India and Pakistan:- Airforce and Naval Power

According to the Global Military Report, the Indian Air Force is considered the third most powerful air force in the world.

The Indian Air Force has around 2,229 aircraft and 513 fighter aircraft in its fleet, including Rafale, Sukhoi 30MKI and indigenously built Tejas fighter jets.

Pakistan has a total of 1399 aircraft, in which 328 are fighter jets, mainly F-16 and JF-17. F16 has been supplied to Pakistan by America and JF-17 has been supplied by China.

Pakistan has a slight plus point in one case as India has only 351 military trainer aircraft, while Pakistan has 565 military trainer aircraft.

Naval power of India and Pakistan

The Indian Navy is considered to be the 7th most powerful navy in the world. It may be at number seven, but the Indian Navy always dominates in the Indian Ocean. In terms of navy, Pakistan’s navy is very weak. The Indian Navy has two aircraft carriers INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya and about 14 destroyers. The Indian Navy has around 18 submarines which strengthen it.

While The Pakistan Navy neither has any aircraft carrier nor any destroyer. The Pakistan Navy has only eight submarines.

Conclusion

Thus, if we see it, Indian Military has a lot of plus points like Indian Military has S400 Missile Defense System, Akash Missile Defense System and 4.5th generation Rafale jets deployed, while Pakistan does not have any such system and India is also a country with a fast growing economy while Pakistan has nothing like that.

so finally, if we compare the military of India-Pakistan then the Indian military is much stronger than the Pakistani military in every aspect.
